get clock and editor configurations back

Description (last modified by roy) (diff)

  • I don't like the change of having the clock settings spread on not so understandable places. the conf.d/clock is quite intuitive.
  • The editor variable could be put on env.d either as part of baselayout or with a canned env.d so I guess that's not exactly the right place to ask, an eselect-editor could provide this if we want to aim to overkill the issue.

We moved clock to hwclock so that the init script name reflects the binary being used where possible. This also means that scripts can now "provide" clock for systems that don't or have an alternative to hwclock.

The EDITOR environment variable is system specific, and it's not OpenRC's job to set global system enviroment variables. Infact, it's pretty much shell dependant.
