Background
==========
For those that don't know me, I live in Australia and have been using Gentoo
in one way or another for close to 15 years. I have been a developer and
Foundation member for about 5 years now and hope to continue for many more.

Foundation affairs
==================
A great deal of progress has been made by the current Board to resolve the
longstanding issues around financial records and tax filings. Continuing
this work must remain a top priority not only to meet our legal obligations
but also to meet our obligations to the community.

Other items of business also need to be continually driven forward. It is
less than ideal when trustee bugs remain open for years or meeting agenda
items are continually pushed forward to future meetings without any progress
made. I would like to see clear next steps and accountable persons determined
to ensure all items raised are addressed in a timely manner.

I would also like to see steps taken to increase the "bus factor". We cannot
afford to get into another situation where we cannot meet our obligations due
to the unexpected absence of a key person.

Foundation role in the wider community
======================================
I strongly believe that the Foundation exists to support Gentoo and the wider
community, not the other way round. I do not believe it is the role of the
the Foundation to interfere in the day-to-day operations of the distribution.
