LinuxCrazy interview with a Gentoo Council member
Posted on April 17, 2008 by Donnie Berkholz

tux

Another very interesting podcast appeared on LinuxCrazy. This time it was Mike Frysinger, one of the most experienced Gentoo developers and a member of the Gentoo Council who spent some time talking to David Abbott.

Mike did his best to familiarize us with his work on toolchain, embedded Gentoo and explained short and long-term goals of the Gentoo Council.

He also answered a couple of more personal questions, told a story about why and how he got into Linux and shortly after into Gentoo, explained origins of his both nicks, vapier and SpanKY ("I came up with SpanKY because I needed something people would fear") and described his typical day ("I wake up and keep programming until I fall asleep").

If you would rather read it, clock_cycles created a transcript of the interview.

Discuss this!

Łukasz Damentko contributed the draft for this announcement.
