Thanks for applying for a project with Gentoo! Unfortunately, we 
couldn't accept everyone this year for a variety of reasons. However, we 
would still love to have you contribute to Gentoo. Most of us develop 
Gentoo as volunteers, which is exactly the same way you could work on 
it.

In case you're wondering why we couldn't accept you, some of the reasons 
include:

- an even better applicant for the same idea;
- an insufficiently detailed proposal;
- a project that wasn't large enough for a summer;
- not enough benefit to Gentoo as a whole; or
- a lack of enthusiasm amongst our reviewers.

We hope that because you applied to work with Gentoo, you're interested 
enough to continue participating in our community. Please let any of us 
know if we can help you get more involved in Gentoo development.
