Goals of sheevaplug: 1) Blog about Gentoo on it. - This will increase Gentoo's karma with embedded devices - This will be enjoyed to read by Gentoo readers - This will increase the vendor's karma from Gentoo users / be indexed on Google by an independant reviewer (me). - (I haven't seen any embedded devs blog on planet.g.o) - Stimulate embedded devs??!? 2) Provide official docs on how to install Gentoo on it. - armin76 has done some work here already. 3) Help with binary support. - Need to research how much is done here and what can be done by me. 4) Help staff the arm arch team - security supported arch liasion? 5) Install another arm-based distro on it (Debian?) and then provide prefix support for "~arm-linux" - Other native non-linux OS's?? - Need external storage and ability to multi-boot. - ( It is possible to install Gentoo Prefix on a Gentoo distro, but does not fit most use cases. ) 6) "Cross-prefix" toolchain support. - Much research on how to support this and will only be attempted after getting familar with the hardware and cross-compiling (may take time). 7) other ideas?
