Introduction
I have a degree in Physics from the University of Sheffield, and am currently studying for a PhD in the Physics and Astronomy department at the University of Sheffield too. I have been running a successful freelance IT business for over five years providing local businesses with innovative IT solutions, most of which are to be Gentoo based solutions, as well as web sites and other general IT consultancy.
I am a member of the scientific software herd. We work on any and all software that is scientific - I specialise in the mathematical, Physics and astronomy based software. I am also a member of the AMD64 porting team where I have been doing a lot of working testing and keywording the new KDE 3.4 split ebuilds, general application porting and testing.
I am also a member of the newly formed www-proxy herd, but mrness fixes those bugs so quickly I never get a look in ;). I did quite a lot of work getting net-libs/c-client and net-mail/uw-imap to build a proper shared library so that PHP 5 could be keyworded ~amd64.
I take care of media-gfx/quickplot, sci-libs/plplot, sci-geosciences/gmt, sci-electronics/gspeakers, sci-chemistry/gperiodic, net-mail/poppassd_ceti and many others that I help out with as part of my responsibilities.
